Child rights action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Women, Children, and HIV CD-ROM

SummaryText
This CD-ROM contains information on HIV/AIDS that was disseminated to the 19,000 delegates attending the International AIDS Conference in Bangkok in July 2004. The CD-ROM, prepared by the University of California - San Francisco (UCSF) Center for HIV Information, is the third and latest edition of "Women, Children, and HIV: Resources for Prevention and Treatment," a leading information resource for international care providers, researchers, and policy makers focusing on mother-to-child transmission of HIV.

This is a compilation of hundreds of documents on HIV/AIDS, covering treatments, drugs and standards of care. It provides data from a variety of countries, allowing healthcare workers to learn from best practices in other regions. There are interactive training modules for medical practitioners, a library of treatment guidelines and research articles, and templates of educational brochures and posters designed for patients and communities.
