Child rights action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Looking forward to present my paper on Music and the Ecology of Fear: Kanyeleng Women Performers and Ebola Prevention in The Gambia @ the forth coming SBCC summit

Very much delighted to be associated with this great initiative which I believed will give me the opportunity to learn new innovative ideas, theories and evidence based strategies and approaches for effective implementation of Social and Behavior Change Communication for improved uptake of Health services.

Youths are energetic with vibrant enthusiasm but deeply vulnerable to the effects of their changing biological and psych-social dimentions. To some youths, this transitional period puts them at risk of making poor SRH decisions. Engaging the youth through sports galas combined with educational music dance and drama can be an opportunity to give sexual reproductive information , SRH services such family planning , HIV counselino and testing as well as offering referrals for other conditions. Learn more about this approach at the SBCC Summit .
