Child rights action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Make a Film. Change Your World

The Co-operative Young Film-Makers Festival, United Kingdom (UK), invites UK youth aged 19 and under to submit a film. First-time and experienced film-makers and groups are encouraged to submit films, as are youth leaders working on projects including youth under 19. Entries may be in Welsh, Gaelic, English, and other languages, particularly those of local ethnic communities. The film must be under 6 minutes long, and films under 3 minutes are particularly encouraged.

The Co-operative suggests that groups tackle an issue that concerns youth, such as climate change, fair trade, animal welfare, healthy living, youth issues, or education, or tell others about their life or community. The Co-operative Young Film-Makers Festival also offers entrants:

• The opportunity to receive feedback and advice from film professionals.

• A wide range of events and classes.

• Opportunities to learn new skills and try equipment.
