Child rights action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Global Alliance Working Group - Coordination Space

Hi folks - excellent to connect with everyone yesterday for the initial implementation discussions related to the development of the Global Alliance for our common field of work. It was agreed that we needed a common, private space to help organise and coordinate the Implementation Plan review and working group activity. You can find the beginnings of this space at this link Global Alliance - Review and Interim Working Group

This is a private group - only people approved to this group can access, read and engage. Therefore you will need to log in. Your user name is above. There is a "forgot your password" process if you need it. If you log in and still see the log in page look top right for your usernname. If it is there you arev logged in. Then just click Groups, then My Groups and look for the group with the stones! Some browsers work very different to others!. Reply to this email if you need any help.

We have uploaded the major documents - for example the draft Implementation plan and the report from the All Parties meeting. This space will also allow us to support and coordinate the possible working groups we mentioned during the call. You can review profiles of your colleagues by clicking on 15 members in top right block. To return to the home page for this Group at any time use the breadcrumbs or click on the header for the top-right block on any page - Global Alliance - Review and Interim Working Group. Or just bookmark of course!

Again as discussed in the meeting we will upload tomorrow (Thursday) over your names the comments and questions received specific to the implementation plan so that everyone can review. Please let me know by reply email if you do not wnat that to happen.

There are comments and reply functionality to ask questions, make additional points and so on. The process is email connected so all communications will also be received by email. As above if you get "lost" in the site just access any page, log in, click on Groups in the navigation bar, then on My Groups, look for the stepping stone image and click on that group - Global Alliance - Review and Interim Working Group. There is a "forgot your password" process if you need that.

Just reply email if you have questions and I will respond. And a reminder that the group is located here.

More soon - thanks - Warren
