Child rights action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Call for Counseling Job Aids - for Community Health Workers

Have you developed counseling or interpersonal communication job aids -- print or digital -- for community health workers (CHW), or do you have favorites to highlight?

USAID Advancing Nutrition is issuing a call for counseling job aids for CHW as part of a review of existing tools. This review is a first step in a human centered design (HCD) process to create nutrition counseling job aids with and for CHW, in collaboration with Breakthrough ACTION's ThinkPlace.

We would like to include your resources, and recommendations on effective ones you have seen, both print and digital. These could include counseling cards, flipcharts, flipbooks, digital counseling guides, etc. from any technical sector or focus, especially for use by community health workers.

We kindly request resources by email at kelsey_torres@jsi.com by Monday, April 27.

Thank you!

Kara Breen, SBC Consultant
