Child rights action with informed and engaged societies
After nearly 28 years, The Communication Initiative (The CI) Global is entering a new chapter. Following a period of transition, the global website has been transferred to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits) in South Africa, where it will be administered by the Social and Behaviour Change Communication Division. Wits' commitment to social change and justice makes it a trusted steward for The CI's legacy and future.

Co-founder Victoria Martin is pleased to see this work continue under Wits' leadership. Victoria knows that co-founder Warren Feek (1953–2024) would have felt deep pride in The CI Global's Africa-led direction.

We honour the team and partners who sustained The CI for decades. Meanwhile, La Iniciativa de Comunicación (CILA) continues independently at cila.comminitcila.com and is linked with The CI Global site.

Journal of Communication Studies

SummaryText
Published twice a year, the Journal of Communication Studies aims to bring to the forefront the 'ideas on communication of ideas'. The journal is a people-centered forum dedicated to "fomenting research and insights on the power of communication: for effecting change, for getting things done, whether at the personal or at the social level." The publishers, National Council of Development Communication (NCDC) seek to integrate and juxtapose collective communication knowledge.

They continually seek people involved in the field of communication - those doing research in any aspect of communication (linguistics, interpersonal communication, mass communication, technology and its impact on communication) and even those who practice the art of communication in their profession - to present their ideas in the form of research papers and abstract insights to the Journal. They also invite communication professionals to be Guest Editor's for theme-based journals.

The journal is only available as a print publication. Back issues are available.
