Lighting up the Darkness

Lighting up the Darkness is a 'youth in care' comic book from the Canadian organisation The Healthy Aboriginal Network. It is about a fictional character Jenny, whose mother was unable to raise her due to alcoholism, returning to her community after living in the city with her aunt and uncle. While visiting family, she has a series of painful flashbacks to when she was a little girl. Jenny’s story is one girl’s struggle, described as a struggle to which youth in conflicted families can relate. It is designated as culturally appropriate by The Healthy Aboriginal Network.
